We know what hair transplant is all about and what happens during the surgery. However, it is equally important to have a look at the things to expect after the surgery and deal with them efficiently. So here’s a look at the post hair transplant surgery scene-
Pain after the hair transplant is a remote possibility as the doctor will prescribe painkillers for you. They should be taken for at least 2 days after the surgery. The medicines give a soothing effect to the patient. You must continue taking the medication for the specified period.
Patients usually experience swelling or bloating after the first hair transplant. The patient may experience swelling from the second to the fourth day. The swelling lasts for only some days and should be considered as a normal side effect of the procedure. It should not be taken as an indication of some upcoming complication. The swelling may travel to the eyelids due to the effect of gravity. To avoid swelling, the patient must keep the head elevated at an angle of 45 degrees using a pillow. It should be done for at least the first three days after the surgery.
The patient may rarely catch an infection. For this, the patient will have to avoid exposure to dirt and bacteria and doing daily tasks for about fortnight after the surgery. The patient should avoid touching the operated area. If it has to be done, then the hands must be sanitized first. If the patient feels pain, swelling, and redness in the treated area, then he should consult the doctor immediately.
Follow the precautions carefully and you will ace the difficult period without much hassle. Happy healing!
